Computer-Based Evaluation Facility (CBEF)

The Computer-Based Evaluation Facility (CBEF) provides assessment services for select courses in the Departments of Computer Sciences and Statistics and the iSchool. The CBEF is located in Room 1524 of Morgridge Hall. Assessments, quizzes and exams are completed on CBEF laptops in a large-scale, proctored testing environment. 

Students enrolled in courses that use the CBEF will receive instructions on how to pre-register for each assessment. Students must be scheduled in advance of their course’s designated testing schedule.

Student policies

• Students are required to schedule a testing appointment. Walk-ins are not permitted.
• Students must have a valid UW–Madison Student ID when checking in for their appointment.
• Students can check-in up to 10 minutes before their scheduled time.  
• Students will only be allowed to check-in up to 10 minutes after their scheduled start time.
