Why did you come to UWMadison?
The cutting-edge research in theory and systems in the Computer Sciences department at UW-Madison motivated me to pursue graduate studies here.

What is your area of interest/research? Are there courses or projects that you’ve particularly liked, and why?
My interest lies in human-centered computing, ensuring computational systems are accessible and safe for diverse users. My research work in privacy-preserving database design, advised by Professor Xiangyao Yu, has been one of the most rewarding experiences during my time here.

What are one or two things you’re doing at UW outside of your classes (clubs, study abroad, employment, conferences, internships, etc)? How do these benefit your education, and/or your life?
Outside of my classes, I actively engage with student-led clubs and organizations on campus, including SACM, WACM, and APIDASC. My involvement in these activities brings me a sense of community and helps expand my worldview. It’s also a great way to unwind!

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to explore different creative outlets for fun, like reading, poetry, photography, and art.

If you could have dinner with any famous figure in tech (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
I would love to share a meal and a conversation with Ada Lovelace, a pioneering woman in technology.

What’s the most unexpected career path you’re considering with your CS degree?
The prospect of a career in tech policy-making intrigues me, and I would consider a career path in which I can help inform policies through computer science research.
