UW-Madison is part of a team of campuses receiving nearly $10 million from the National Science Foundation to further develop cloud infrastructure and enable high-level research by scientists around the country.
Computer sciences PhD student Wenfei Wu and associate professor Aditya Akella's paper titled "Virtual Network Diagnosis as a Service" won the Best Student Paper award at the 2013 ACM Symposium on Cloud Computing (also known as SOCC 2013). Guohui Wang (Facebook) and Anees Shaikh (IBM) are co-authors.
Ashok Anand (MS 2010, PhD 2012) and associate professor Aditya Akella have won the Best Paper Award at CoNEXT 2013 for their work titled "Enhancing multimedia accessibility and availability with information-bound references." The conference, also known as the 9th International Conference on Emerging Networking EXperiments and Technologies, was held Dec. 9-12 in Santa Barbara, Calif.
