Employer: Small Shops United LLC
Location: Milwaukee, WI (remote work accepted) United States
Deadline: August 21, 2018
Description: Be more than just another programmer! Small Shops United is looking for a startup-minded software developer ready to help turn a small, Milwaukee-based startup into a scalable, full-service digital marketing platform for small businesses and citizens in communities all around the country. This is the rare opportunity to jump in on the ground floor of a startup business that has already gained significant traction with 80+ small business clients and 21,000+ registered users in the Milwaukee area. We’re currently poised for rapid growth, but I need the right technical partner to lead our product development as we move into a very exciting future. With two technical consultants very involved with the company, even less experienced candidates can get the guidance and support they need to thrive in this opportunity.
As Founder, I’m a very fun and friendly person with a serious passion for the business. I’ve been insanely persistent to get the startup into the position it’s in today, and now it’s time to put the right people into place, and to have some fun with it!
Qualifications: A full-stack developer with experience working with PHP and MySQL, comfortable with Unit Testing, and preferably a working knowledge of React on the front end. All candidates should be prepared to share examples of past work, and/or current projects.
Responsibilities: Candidates should be entrepreneurial in spirit, and willing to make the sacrifices that come with working in/on a startup. Be ready to explore and share ideas, manage project timelines, and build amazing products. Benefits: Opportunity to be the tech lead at a startup on the verge of rapid growth. Compensation is negotiable and commensurate with both experience and time commitment, including both financial and ownership.
Requirements: BS/BA or greater in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field A demonstration of past and/or current project work Ability to work a minimum of 20 - 30hrs per week to start
