Andrew R. Bernat is a recent PhD graduate at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College. He is a systems designer with a focus in binary modification, a technique that allows manipulating the behavior of computer programs during execution without requiring any special preparation. Binary modification enables dynamic performance analysis, efficient program understanging, runtime ("hot") patching, and investigation of malware. He is also interested in large-scale performance analysis and security work.
