Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer SciencesPsychology, and Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin—Madison and direct the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory at the Department of Computer Sciences. I received my Ph.D. from the Human-Computer Interaction Institute atCarnegie Mellon University.

My research is in the broad areas of human-computer interaction (HCI) and computer-supported collaborative work (CSCW). I am particularly interested in designing social behavior for socially interactive systems such as humanlike robots and agents and their applications in education, collaboration, communication, and the treatment of developmental conditions. Please visit my lab'sProjects page for more information on my research program.
