CSL Unix Orientation Sessions
New Unix users and novice unix users new to the CSL Unix facilities are encouraged to attend an orienation session as early in the semester as possible. Users are also advised to purchase a copy of
CS 1000 (An Introductory Manual to the Unix Operating System and the Computer Sciences Department's Instructional Computing Environment) at the DoIT Tech Store (first floor of the Computer Sciences and Statistics Building) or download it at [http://www.cs.wisc.edu/csl/cs1000.pdf].
Students only need to attend one orientation session. Each session consists of a short video presentation, followed by a hands-on session in the user rooms. This takes about an hour and 15 minutes.
The orientation sessions are in room 1325 Computer Sciences.
