Setting up "COMPSCI-1X in Windows XP

  • The first step is to install SecureW2. Follow the instructions in the installer, your computer will probably have to be rebooted for the changes to take effect.
  • After SecureW2 is installed, open the Wireless Networks Manager.
    • Start Menu--Control Panel--Network Connections--Wireless Network Connection--View Wireless Networks--Change advanced settings (left panel)--Wireless Networks tab
  • Click Add, and fill in the following information:
    • Network name: COMPSCI-1X
    • Network Authentication: WPA
    • Data Encryption: AES
  • Click the Authentication Tab
  • For EAP Type, choose "!SecureW2 EAP-TTLS"
  • Click Properties
  • Click Configure
  • Under the Connection tab, uncheck "Use alternate outer identity"
  • Under the Certificates tab, uncheck "Verify server certificate"
  • Click OK on all the menus.
  • Connect to the COMPSCI-1X network
  • It should pop up a SecureW2 box asking for your credentials
  • Type in your CS username and password and leave the domain blank and then hit Ok
  • You should now be connected to COMPSCI-1X
