The big cheese event is Cheese Days in Monroe, Sept 19-21, 2008:
When I was there some years ago, it had hundreds of kinds of cheese to taste for free, and the usual wisconsin fair fare: beer, music, car show.
They're known for Limberger cheese sandwiches at a place or two in Monroe... I meant to have one of these infamous things (on rye with raw onion), but once I tasted a tiny piece of a similar cheese, I decided there was no way I could eat any more of it!
