A new website that rates CS programs, Computer Science Rankings (csrankings.org), lists the University of Wisconsin-Madison very highly in several areas.
According to the site, run by Prof. Emery Berger of the Univ. of Massachusetts-Amherst, "This ranking of top computer science schools is designed to identify institutions and faculty actively engaged in research across a number of areas of computer science, based on the number of publications by faculty that have appeared at the most selective conferences in each area of computer science."
As of this writing, CSrankings.org lists UW-Madison as:
- #2 in logic and verification
- #2 when combining logic and verification with programming languages
- #2 in measurement and performance analysis
- #3 in computer architecture
- #5 in operating systems
- #6 in databases
