The Space Science and Engineering Center and the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Studies is looking to hire a student programmer to join a research group involving simulations of earth-like exoplanets, in order to support research involving exoplanet detection and characterization with future planned space telescope missions.
The primary role of this position is to develop interactive web tools to display and process output from these simulations.
The ideal candidate will posess:
-Working knowledge of general unix/linux usage and the python programming language.
-Knowledge of web development is desired.
-Comfortable starting a new project: helping to define the project requirements and implementing tools that will be hosted on a public website.
Preference will be give to those with a background that includes some physical science coursework.
