Intern (paid) proficient in PHP/HTML development

Employer:

CISV USA

Location:

United States

Deadline:

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

CISV USA is seeking a talented developer intern to both maintain and develop new features on CISV Central - the organization's national website made to communicate and organize our member chapters.

CISV is a global community of dedicated volunteers, creating opportunities for all ages to experience the excitement and enrichment of cultural diversity through our educational programs. We are founded on our belief that peace is possible through friendship - and that the real difference can be made by starting with children. CISV is a charitable, independent, non-political, volunteer organization promoting peace education and cross-cultural friendship. Join our team of volunteers working to improve communication and collaboration in our National Association while honing your skills learned in the classroom in a real world application and learning the software development process in a non-profit organization. Making a difference and growing your expertise doesn't need to take much time and can earn you essential college credits.

You will work with the CISV USA Executive Director and the National Electronic Communications Chair to implement bug fixes and new features. This is a telecommuting position, so working in your sweats or pjs at any time of the day or night is OK with us. If you are located in the Cincinnati area, you can work on-site at the CISV USA office.

You will be trained on the internals of the system and Drupal, an open source content management platform, and have the ability to consult with our team (electronically).

Skills desired/requirements:
• PHP, HTML, CSS, jQuery/Javascript and Drupal knowledge is a plus.
• Familiarity with the version control system GIT or a similar system.
• Ability and desire to work independently.

Salary is commensurate with skills and experience, starting at $12/hr. Desired duration and hours per week are 10 weeks at 20 hours per week, but this negotiable and can vary based on your availability and requirements of your school’s internship program. This position will report to the National Electronic Communications Chair.

For consideration please submit resumes to Laura Kersey at executivedirector@cisvusa.org.
