CS alumna Theodora Hinkle (MS '12) has been awarded the Outstanding Math Circle Presentation Award by the Madison Math Circle. The Math Circle is an outreach program aimed at giving middle-school and high school students a taste of interesting topics in math and science. During the 2013-14 year, Hinkle gave two Math Circle presentations related to sorting algorithms. Students invented their own sorting algorithms and then experimented to see which were most efficient. Hinkle and another winner, Reese Johnston, were selected based on feedback from students, parents and organizers.
