PhD candidate Sardashti wins ACM award

In October 2013 at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, PhD candidate Somayeh Sardashti won the ACM student research competition for her paper "Exploiting Spatial Locality for Energy-Optimized Compressed Caching." The conference was held Oct. 2-5 in Minneapolis. Sardashti is a student of Professor David Wood and part of the Wisconsin Multifacet Group. Her research interests include energy-efficient architecture and, more specifically, energy-optimized memory hierarchies.
