Motivation

The purpose of this special workshop is for a group of experts to present the state of art of the Malware Detection research and to discuss the research roadmap. Each invitee will have 30 minute to present his/her research interests/project. A group discussion will also be scheduled at the end of the workshop.

The research areas covered under the workshop will be:

  • Detecting Safety-Violating Malware
  • Detecting Privacy-Violating Malware
  • Protecting Mobile Code from Malware Infection
  • Protecting Wireless or Portable Devices from Malware
  • Testing and Benchmarking Malware Detectors
  • Mitigating and Neutralizing Damage Caused by Malware

Proceedings

An edited proceeding of this special workshop is published by Springer as a participating book in the Advances in Information Security series. The book consists of contributed papers from each invitee and the papers are organized under the research themes listed above.
