| Michael Gleicher Professor Overview: Mike came to Madison in 1998 to found a new group in graphics at University of Wisconsin, Madison. His
research is in computer animation (motion editing and motion capture),
computer graphics (non-photorealistic rendering, 3D input, ...), and
computer vision (human motion reconstruction).

| Li Zhang Assistant Professor Overview: Li joined the UW-Madison in 2007. His research interests include computer vision and imaging and their applications in graphics and animation. web: http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~lizhang/ e-mail: lizhang@cs.wisc.edu |
| Aaron Bryden
Overview: I'm a fourth year graduate student working in computational biology and visualization. web: e-mail: bryden@cs.wisc.edu
|
| Greg Cipriano Overview: Greg is a well-seasoned PhD student, working on mesh simplification and visualization of protein surfaces with Mike Gleicher. web: http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~gregc e-mail: gregc@cs.wisc.edu |
| Water Cooler Overview: Water Cooler, who has logged more hours in the lab than any other member, works on project Hydrogenation, modelling 3D fluid dynamics of 5 gallon jugs of water in real time with photo realistic
accuracy. Water Cooler also dispenses both hot and cold water.

| Feng Liu Overview: Feng is going to be a fourth year graduate student working with Prof. Gleicher. He is interested in various topics in Multimedia, Vision and Graphics, such as multimedia representation and interaction, computational photography, computer animation, video segmentation, human tracking... web: http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~fliu/ e-mail: fliu@cs.wisc.edu |
| Adrian Mayorga Overview: Adrian is a new PhD student, currently working on geometric abstraction of complex shapes with Mike Gleicher. web: http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~adrm e-mail: adrm@cs.wisc.edu |
| Yuzhen Niu Overview: Yuzhen is a visiting student, working on image and video retargeting with Feng and Mike Gleicher. web: http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~yuzhen e-mail: yuzhen@cs.wisc.edu |
| Brandon M. Smith Overview: Brandon is a third-year graduate student working in the area of computer vision with Li Zhang. web: http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~bmsmith e-mail: bmsmith@cs.wisc.edu |
| Charles Dyer Overview: Chuck has been on the faculty here since 1982. His research is primarily in computer vision, though recently issues
at the interface of computer vision and computer graphics have
been studied. His research has focused mainly on shape and image representations for
computer vision, with prominent contributions on topics such as
quadtrees, aspect graphs, pyramid algorithms, image-based rendering,
object recognition, and visual exploration.

| Kurt Squire Overview: Kurt Squire is an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Educational Communications and
Technology division of Curriculum and
Instruction. He is a former Montessori and primary school teacher and, before coming to
Wisconsin, was Research Manager of the Games-to-Teach Project at
MIT and Co-Director of Education
Arcade. Squire earned his doctorate in Instructional
Systems Technologyfrom Indiana University; his dissertation research examined students'
learning through a game-based learning program he designed around *Civilization III*. Squire co-founded Joystick101.org with Jon Goodwin and currently writes a monthly column with Henry Jenkins
for Computer Games magazine. In
addition to writing over 30 scholarly articles and book chapters, and he has given
dozens of talks and invited addresses in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Squire's current research interests center on the impact of contemporary
gaming practices on learning, schooling and society. Along with several
other University Wisconsin-Madison faculty, he runs the
Games and
Professional Practice(GAPPS) initiative located at the
Academic Advanced Distributed Learning
Co-Lab.
