Instead of a topic based homework, you can answer the following questions and count it as one of the technical homeworks.

These questions are real and specific advice I would like on how to run the class differently when I do it next time (probably next spring).

1) There are far too many topics to cram into the semester. I found it somewhat unsatisfying that we didn’t get to all of the topics I wanted to. On the other hand, I found it somewhat unsatisfying that we didn’t get into much depth in any topic.

1A) Would you have preferred more depth or more topics? (or was the mix about right?)
1B) What topics should we have cut down on?
1C) If we cut stuff out to have more time, what should we have spent more time on?

2) I thought that the shader project was a success.
2A) What did you think of it?
2B) How could we make it better?

3) Lots of people have said that this class is too much work. 3A) What should we cut out to reduce the amount of work?
3B) What had the least amount of value to you?
3C) One problem with this class (and 559) is that the assignments/projects tend to require a lot of work unrelated to the technical content (like making GUIs etc.) For the "big game" project, this is actually part of the project (to see how all these pieces must be followed through on), however, for more technical assignments, it means a bad "work to learning ratio". What can we do to improve the "work to learning ratio" for the technical assignments?

OK - this survey counts in the category of "work without much benefit for you", but I believe that everything that you did (including the anonymous post-mortem) was a useful exercise - some things were more "experiential learning" and "reflection-based solidification" (to use some educational science terms) than you might be used to.

4A) What did you think was the most interesting technical topic discussed in class?
4B) What did you think was the least interesting technical topic discussed in class?
