Assignment 0: Handin Practice (due 9/12)

TA in Charge: Yu-Chi

All you need to do for this assignment is turn in a picture of yourself.

Why?

One purpose of this assignment is to make sure that everyone can turn things in and that the directories are in place, ... Another purpose of this assignment is to make sure that everyone has access to tools for getting images, and making them into the right format for the class. Its also good practice for following the handing directions for the class.

A third purpose: we (the instructor and TAs) really do want to get to know people. With so many people in the class, it can be hard. Having your picture helps us associate names and faces.

What?

Get a picture of yourself - a headshot (like in a yearbook or on your student ID). It should be a current picture. If you don't have access to a digital camera, contact the TA and they will take a picture for you.

Using whatever program you like (paintshop pro, photoshop, ...) reduce the picture down so its 150x150 pixels, and save it in targa (.TGA) format. Name the file LOGIN.tga (where LOGIN is your login), and place it into the handin directory (in the correct subdirectory for this assignment which will be "A0"). Look at Turning Things In.

Handin directories will be available after Thursday, September 5th. If you do not have a handin directory (and its after the 5th), contact the TA.
