Video highlights innovative service-learning course

"Code Kids," a new four-minute video, explores an innovative service-learning course founded by Prof. Andrea Arpaci-Dusseau.  CS 402, Introducing Computer Science to K-12 Students, teaches UW students how to mentor kids in local Madison schools, introducing them to the fun and challenges of computer science through programming in Scratch.  UW students gain valuable teaching experience, kids learn new concepts--and everyone has fun!

Said one youngster of his UW mentors, "They're friendly, they're smart, they're kind of like me!"  Said another, "They’re smart, and they’re just really kind."
