Computer Sciences Dept.

Faculty Positions

The Computer Sciences Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has two faculty openings:

  1. We have one opening in the area of database management systems. Individuals will be considered at all levels, including tenure track assistant professor, associate professor, or full professor, depending upon the qualifications of the candidate.

  2. We have one opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We invite applications from outstanding candidates in all areas of Computer Science.

The department is pleased to be a recipient of a Clare Boothe Luce Professorship, which provides discretionary research funding in addition to salary for an outstanding junior, US citizen or permanent resident, woman faculty member. Should the successful candidate for either position meet these requirements, the Department intends to offer the Professorship subject to final approval by the Henry Luce Foundation.

For each position, applicants should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or in a closely related field, and demonstrated strength in scholarly research. Successful candidates will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, in addition to establishing a significant and highly-visible research program.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of research objectives and sample publications, and arrange for at least three letters of reference to be submitted directly to:
