In this talk I will describe some of my experiences in using the Ardiuno board and its ecosystem of controllers and shields which we used to create handson projects in the Freshman computer science class. I will describe some of the student feedback, learning objectives, pedagogical lessons I learned, and my thoughts on how such activities could enhance the CS curriculum.
