The Department of Computer Science at the University of Regina invites applications for two 3-year term faculty positions at the Lecturer level, starting July 1, 2021 (with teaching to commence in the Fall 2021 semester).
	
Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. at the commencement of the appointment. The responsibilities of a Lecturer are normally teaching and teaching-related duties, research and scholarship, and service. The expectations in research and scholarship are to focus on activities that ensure currency and engagement in the discipline, especially pedagogy. Service contributions should be focused on committees and other service that is in support of teaching and pedagogy. The teaching load for this position will be six courses per year.

In particular, we are seeking candidates that are committed to excellence in teaching, and are able to teach courses both within our core undergraduate program as well as in our graduate program. In our undergraduate program, the successful candidates will be expected to teach several core courses at all levels from subject areas including (but not limited to) Algorithms & Data Structures,  Computing Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Human Computer Interaction,  Operating Systems , Programming Languages,  and Social & Professional Issues in Computing. In our graduate program, the successful candidate will be expected to teach one or two graduate courses per year in their area of research interest. Experience creating and revising course content is asset, as is experience in teaching large classes, online classes and managing teaching teams. 

As part of the application, candidates should provide evidence of the depth and breadth of their teaching expertise, an established teaching philosophy, three references, and a statement of how their research interests inform their teaching. Candidates should provide an outline of their research interests, and the description of at least one graduate course that can be taught based on this research. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to academic service through committee work, peer review activities, and the support of other academic work.
