*** CALL FOR DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM PAPERS ***

10th International Conference on Web Intelligence, Mining & Semantics (WIMS 2020),
30 June - 3 July, 2020   ---   Biarritz, France
https://wims2020.sigappfr.org
co-located with the 5th International Conference on Real-time Intelligent Systems (RTIS 2020)
https://rtis2020.sigappfr.org

The Doctoral Consortium
=================================
WIMS 2020 will host a Doctoral Consortium (DC) for early-stage researchers such as PhD and MSc students who are actively involved in research. The DC will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to promote their work; to obtain experience in presenting and communicating their research within a friendly and supportive environment; and to establish new fruitful collaborations and person-to-person contacts in the academic and research community.

Topics of Interest:
=================================
The WIMS 2020 DC is open for submissions that present novel ideas and make a formative scientific contribution in their field of research. The topics span across the research areas of the WIMS 2020 Conference (see https://wims2020.sigappfr.org/cfp for further details), including, but not limited to the various topics arising from research in web intelligence; web mining, information and knowledge extraction; and web semantics and reasoning. Research topics around WIMS applications as well as evaluation and validation methodologies are also welcome and interdisciplinary research work is particularly welcome.

Submission and ACM Proceedings
=================================
The DC Proceedings will be published by ACM, jointly with the Proceedings of the main WIMS 2020 Conference. The papers should be submitted in PDF format at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wims2020 (maximum 8 pages long) following the ACM Proceedings template (please use either the 'sample-sigconf.tex' Latex template from https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template, or the 'acm_mat_word_v1.dotm' MS Word template from https://www.acm.org/publications/taps/word-template-workflow). All the papers will be reviewed and evaluated by the Program Committee of WIMS 2020 conference, thus providing young researchers with detailed comments and constructive technical feedback on topics and on writing, as well as, when appropriate, guidance on future research plans and directions. There is no requirement that the papers should be solely authored by the students; co-authors may, for example, be the research advisors or others similarly involved in collaborative research work. However, it is expected that the name of student will appear first in the authors’ list.

Important Dates
=================================
16th March 2020: Full paper submission
18th May 2020:   Notification
1st June 2020: Camera ready and registration

Registration and Paper Presentation
=================================
At least one student author per DC paper needs to register and present her/his paper at the DC session (i.e. the speaker must be a student (co-)author of the paper). The DC session devoted to the student papers presentations will take place along the WIMS 2020 Conference, which means that experienced researchers and academics will have the opportunity to attend the DC session and provide the students with feedback and advice on their work, while the students will have the opportunity to follow the presentations of the main conference and attend talks and meet fellow researchers in their own, as well as in closely related fields.

DC Chair
