The conference is to provide a platform to bring together academicians, scholars, practicing managers of different parts of the world and exchange views and experience on the theme “World Financial Crisis and Global Business Challenges”
CONFERENCE THEME
World Financial Crisis and Global Business Challenges
Global financial crisis started with the US sub-prime mortgage debacle. This crisis is now hurting the real economies of the entire world, and governments had to come up with rescue packages to bail out their financial and economic systems. As the financial deleveraging has continued the confidence level of producers and consumers have fallen significantly, now the prospects for a sustainable global economic recovery look shaky. This new global environment has given rise to regulatory reform in the financial markets, restructuring of industrial entities, innovative marketing ideas, diversity in product and service offerings, rethinking of corporate compensation issues, and even protectionism. Companies now need good enterprise governance and changed strategies to make the businesses, industries and financial institutions survivable and sustainable in this integrated global economy. The GBMF 2009 Conference aims to discuss and deliberate these emerging issues and challenges for the sustainable growth of business and economy. Abstracts and/or research papers are invited on all management and business related topics such as, management, marketing, finance, accounting, economics, capital market, Information system, micro credit, environmental issues, CSR, corporate governance, Global business strategies etc. with relevance to the conference theme. Papers germane to general areas of business are also welcome.
Papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in the Global Business and Management Journal (GBMJ). Selected papers will be considered for publication after a double blind review process.  The GBMJ is an international refereed journal.
ABOUT GBMF
The global Business and Management Forum (GBMF), registered in USA and headquartered at University of Nebraska-Omaha, was created to provide a platform for dialogue, collaborative teaching and research, and knowledge sharing among the academic and practitioners involved in business and management. As markets continue to liberalize to foster stronger and more sustained economic growth, businesses and governments witness a surge in demand for more and better business information. With the goal of bringing business professionals together from around the world to share best of breed practices in business and management, GBMF organizes an international conference every year. The Dhaka conference this year symbolizes that effort.
