CALL FOR PAPERS The First International Workshop on Intelligent Context-Aware Systems (IC-AS-2010) [http://www.icas.bcu.ac.uk/] To be held in conjunction with The 4th International Conference on Complex, Intelligent, and Software Intensive Systems (CISIS-2010) [http://www.cisis-conference.eu/conf/] Krakow, Poland, February 15-19, 2010 Important Dates Paper Submission Deadline: 1 September 2009 Author Notification: 1 November 2009 Author Registration: 14 November 2009 Proceedings Version: 14 November 2009 Conference: 15-19 February 2010 Workshop Scope and Description Context is inherently complex, its effective use in intelligent context-aware systems representing a protracted and difficult challenge that has to date not been effectively addressed. A context definition (definition) is not an end in itself but is an artefact to enable personalized service provision (generally in wireless and networked pervasive systems) with the aim of addressing a number of important issues including: (1) information overload, (2) personalized service provision, (3) inaccurate search results, and (4) interactive collaboration in networked and wireless mobile systems. In mobile computing a context relates to a user’s situated role. The aim of the workshop is to present topical and innovative research utilizing intelligent context-aware computing technologies to address theoretical and practical issues in a diverse and heterogeneous range of application domains and systems which include (but not limited to): Ubiquitous Health Care, Ubiquitous Mobile Learning, Pervasive Emergency Management, Mobile Information Systems, Wireless and Networked Systems. Topics of Interest The workshop will seek original contributions in all relevant areas addressing the fundamentals and developments in intelligent context and its use in context-aware systems including, but not limited to, the following topics: (1) Intelligent Context-Aware Applications and Systems (2) Personalization and Targeted Service Provision in Resource Delivery and Collaborative Systems (3) Semantic Web Technologies and Intelligent Context-Aware applications and Systems (4) Ontology, its use and application in Intelligent Context (5) Context-Aware Mobile, Networked, and Distributed Distance Learning Systems (6) Ubiquitous Context-Aware Mobile Learning (m-learning) and e-learning Applications and Systems (7) Context-Aware Ubiquitous mobile Health Care and Networked Information Systems (8) Surveys of Ubiquitous and Intelligent Context-Aware Applications and Systems (9) Database and Knowledge management issues in Context-Aware Systems Submission Guidelines Authors are invited to submit research papers in English to the IEEE conference proceedings letter page two-column format. The IEEE conference proceedings format and author guidelines can be located at: http://computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm, a formatting template is available at http://www.icas.bcu.ac.uk/. Papers should be 6 pages long. Electronic submission in PDF or PS format is recommended. Publication All papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the ICAS-2010 programme committee and selected reviewers based on their originality, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing, formatting, and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance. The IEEE Computer Society Press will publish Conference Proceedings.
