AusVideo 2008 invites you to participate in the first annual Australia video conference, covering all aspects of video computing. Video computing is emerging to be most exciting and fastest-growing in multimedia. However, opportunities for the exchange of ideas between different research groups, and between researchers and potential users of video systems, are still limited. AusVideo aims to provide a forum for the discussion on all aspects of video computing among researchers, developers and users from academia, business and industry throughout Australia. It encourages new theories, technologies and innovative research in the broad field of video computing.

 

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

 

·         Video Database

o   Video database management, query language, query interface, query processing, indexing, distributed video database, video data storage and mining, video database security and privacy, etc.

·         Video Retrieval

o   Video search, video Ranking and results re-ranking, video summarization, video visualization, video annotation, P2P retrieval, multi-model fusion and processing, relevance feedback, etc.

·         Video Processing

o   Video content analysis, video semantic and modeling, pattern recognition, copyright management, etc.

·         Video Communication

o   Video Compression, video networking and systems, video con tent distribution, P2P streaming, video encoding/decoding, wireless video, middleware, QoS, video end- systems, etc.

Awards:

Best Paper Award: An Award will be given to the best paper, with 1000AU$ cash prize.

Best Demo Award: An Award will be given to the best demo, with 500AU$ cash prize.

Paper Submission:

            All papers will be peer-reviewed. Prepare a regular paper (not more than 12 pages), extended abstract (no more than 2 pages) and demonstration (no more than 2 pages) conforming to the formatting instructions (LaTex, Word, Copyright form) for the series Conferences in Research and Practice in Information Technology, Australia Computer Society (http://crpit.com/Authors.html).

Publication:

ADC proceedings will be published through the Australian Computer Society in the Conferences in Research and Practice in Information Technology (CRPIT) series. After the conference, authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version for publication in the Journal of Research and Practice in Information Technology (JRPIT).
