First IEEE/WIC/ACM Web Intelligence/Intelligent Agent Technology Workshop on Web Privacy Intelligence (WPI’06)

Privacy issues form a major area of concern for all individuals and public and private sector organizations utilizing Web-enabled applications. Research examines managing privacy automatically on the Web from many perspectives, including as a soft quality-of-service parameter, an essential element for trust among users and their agents on the Web, a business requirement for user e-commerce adoption, a legal requirement for consumer privacy protection, and as a determinant in the use of data in personalized, context-aware service provision in m-commerce and e-business. In addition, various areas of computational intelligence, for example, dynamic bayesian networks, belief revision, and logic, including the forms embedded in emerging standards for semantic Web languages, provide infrastructure for reasoning ability to more fully automate Web privacy management tasks. This workshop intends to bring together interdisciplinary researchers, developers, and practitioners working in the areas of user and organizational privacy management, semantic Web languages, Web computational intelligence, and intelligent agent technologies to advance research and development in Web privacy intelligence. 

Authors are invited to submit original papers to the workshop exploring Web intelligence theories and techniques for privacy in Web-based applications. Papers are invited to address topics and areas including, but not limited to:

Only electronic submission of original technical contributions will be accepted.
